DOOD Rules

Letter codes that can display for an Element are as follows:

Type Code Description
Day (an empty cell) Any day on which the Element does not work and is not scheduled or tracked (not on hold, not in a fitting, not on holiday, etc.).
Off Day (an empty, light grey cell) Company off days (as defined by the Calendar associated to the Stripboard) are generally treated as non-working days for Elements (e.g., the Element is not on Hold during an off day and is not working because no Strips can be scheduled on these days). Some events (like Travel or Rehearsal) may override an off day for some Elements. Refer to the below.
Work W Any day on which the Element is scheduled to be working (is added to a Strip that is scheduled that day). Other activities might count as work, but this DOOD designation is for when the Element is working due to being scheduled in a Strip for that day. Is added to WORKED under TOTAL DAYS.
Start S Designates the first day the Element is working based on the first Strip they are scheduled to work in. Ignores other Events that may occur before that Strip. Will be combined with other relevant working abbreviations and is almost always shown as “SW”. If the Element only works one day, it would be shown as “SWF”.
Finish F Designates the last day the Element is working based on the last Strip they are scheduled to work in. Ignores other Events that may occur after that Strip. Will be combined with other relevant working abbreviations and is almost always shown as WF. If the Element only works one day, it would be shown as “SWF”.
Hold H By default, Elements that are not working on specific days between their first and last day of work are shown as blank (non-working) on those days. However, some Elements will be marked as “allowing hold days". In those cases, all non-working days for that Element between their first and last working day are marked as H (except for company-wide off days). Is added to HELD under TOTAL DAYS.
Drop D By default, Elements that are working are expected to be available for the duration of the Schedule between their first and last days of work if held. However, some Elements will be marked as "allowing drop/pick-up". In those cases, the Element might be marked as D(ropped) when there's a sufficient break in their Schedule and P(icked up) when their work Schedule resumes. Will be combined with other working abbreviations and is almost always shown as “WD” or “SWD”. Days during a drop period are not tallied or added to the total days for the Element.
Pick-up P After an Element has been Dropped, they are Picked-up when they return to work. Will be combined with other working abbreviations, so it is almost always seen as “PW” (but could also be “PWF”).
Travel TR Individual Elements may be marked with an Event when they are expected to be traveling (e.g., getting on a plane to shooting location).. A TRAVEL DAY is any day where an Element has one or more TRAVEL type Events scheduled. TRAVEL DAYS are added to WORKED under TOTAL DAYS.. TRAVEL DAYS are shown even if the Element is not scheduled for any other work. TRAVEL DAYS act as WORK days for the purposes of scheduling a DROP (i.e., a drop cannot be scheduled if the Element is marked to travel during that period). TRAVEL DAYS are NOT dependent on the "Allow Holds" or "Allow Drops" flags (Travel days are shown and tallied whether those options are on or off)
Fitting FT Individual Elements may be marked with an Event when they are expected to be in a Fitting (e.g., getting fitted for wardrobe).. A FITTING DAY is any day where an Element has one or more FITTING type Event scheduled. FITTING DAYS are added to WORKED under TOTAL DAYS. FITTING DAYS are shown even if the Element is not scheduled for any other work. FITTING DAYS act as WORK days for the purposes of scheduling a DROP (i.e., a drop cannot be scheduled if the Element is marked for a fitting during that period). FITTING DAYS are NOT dependent on the "Allow Holds" or "Allow Drops" flags (Fitting days are shown and tallied whether those options are on or off)
Rehearsal R Individual Elements may be marked with an Event when they are expected to be in a Rehearsal (e.g., rehearsing a scene or stunt that is not currently being filmed).. A REHEARSAL DAY is any day where an Element has one or more REHEARSAL type Event scheduled. REHEARSAL DAYS are added to WORKED under TOTAL DAYS. REHEARSAL DAYS are shown even if the Element is not scheduled for any other work. REHEARSAL DAYS act as WORK days for the purposes of scheduling a DROP (i.e., a drop cannot be scheduled if the Element is marked for a rehearsal during that period). REHEARSAL DAYS are NOT dependent on the "Allow Holds" or "Allow Drops" flags (Rehearsal days are shown and tallied whether those options are on or off)
Holiday / Company Holidays (as defined by the Calendar associated to the Segment) are treated as non-working days for Elements (e.g., the Element is not on Hold during a holiday, and wouldn't be working because no Strips can be scheduled on these days). The treatment for these cells in a DOOD is the same as a non-working day with the addition of a slash character.. COMPANY HOLIDAYS are added to WORKED under TOTAL DAYS if tallied. IF THE ELEMENT IS NOT SCHEDULED FOR ANY W DAYS this is not shown on the DOOD or tallied. IF SCHEDULED DURING A DROP this is not shown on the DOOD or tallied. IF SCHEDULED BEFORE THE FIRST SW OR AFTER THE LAST WF this is not shown on the DOOD or tallied. DEPENDENT on the "Allow Holds" flag. So, Company Holidays are only counted for the Element's WORKED total if the Element has "Allow Holds" turned on and the Company Holiday appears between SW and WF and not during a Drop
Company Travel M Company Travel (as defined by the Calendar associated to the Segment) are treated as non-working days for Elements (e.g., the Element is not on Hold during a travel day and wouldn't be "working" because no Strips can be scheduled on these days). The treatment for these cells in a DOOD is the same as a non-working day with the addition of an "M" (for "Move"). Note the difference between individual Element Travel (TR) days and Company Travel (M) days.. COMPANY TRAVEL DAYS are added to WORKED under TOTAL DAYS if tallied. Therefore, Company Travel Days are only counted for the Element's WORKED total if the Element has "Allow Holds" turned on and the Company Travel appears between SW and WF and not during a Drop

DOOD rules are currently managed on a Segment-by-Segment basis in Movie Magic Scheduling.
