Importing Breakdown Sheets¶
Movie Magic Scheduling will import any detected scenes and element tags as new Breakdown Sheets in the currently active schedule. All newly created Breakdown Sheets will appear at the end of the Boneyard in every Board of that schedule.
Tagged elements in the file will also be imported. If an element name matches an existing element, it will be added to the appropriate Breakdown Sheets. Elements that are not already included in the schedule will be created and added automatically.
To import a script, go to the File menu and select Import Script.... Then select a .fdx, .sex, or Movie Magic Screenwriter file.
Script File¶
You can directly import a Movie Magic Screenwriter or Final Draft script into Movie Magic Scheduling. It will import the header (slugline) and the talking characters.
Script Tagged File¶
If you tagged your script, you will need to export it from your writing application. This export will create a .sex file (Scheduling Export).
Tagged elements in the file will also be included. If an element name matches an existing element, it will be added to the appropriate Breakdown Sheets. Elements that are not already included in the schedule will be created and added automatically.
If you created new categories in your tagged document that do not exist in your Breakdown Sheet, those categories will be added to the Breakdown Sheets along with the elements they contain.
