Elements Table¶
With a selected Category in the Elements Tab, the Element Table will be displayed on the right.
Sort Elements¶
To sort the Elements table:
- Select SORT: By Header in the top bar and then click a column header to sort alphanumerically by that column.
- Or select SORT: Custom in the top bar and then drag and drop Elements using the three-bar icon.
Add an Element¶
To add a new Element to the Category (without adding it to any Events or Breakdown Sheets yet):
- Click ADD at the top of the table.
- Name the Element and then click Save & Close.
Note: Each Element name in a Category must be unique.
Edit an Element¶
To edit an Element:
- Click the Element name and then click the Edit (pencil) icon that appears at the far right (or double-click the Element).
- Edit the Element name (must be unique in the Category).
- Give the Element an alphanumeric Board ID (must be unique in the Category).
- Change the Elements assigned Category if needed.
- Select if you want the Element to be Excluded from the Stripboard.
- *The private beta of New Movie Magic Scheduling has a fixed Stripboard layout, so the "exclude from stripboard" option has no effect, and the Stripboard will only show the Cast Members Category.
- Select if the Element will "Allow Hold Days".
- Select if the Element will "Allow Drop/Pickup" (if applicable).
- Select the min. Days between Drop/Pickup (if applicable).
- Click Save & Close to commit your changes
Delete an Element¶
To delete an Element from your entire Schedule:
- Click the Element name and then click the Edit (pencil) icon that appears at the far right (or double-click the Element).
- Click DELETE ELEMENT.
- The system will ask you to confirm deleting the Element across your entire Schedule.
- Click Delete Element to continue.
Bulk Edit Elements¶
To work with Elements in bulk:
- Elements can be selected in bulk by using the checkbox to the left of their row.
- Select all Elements in a table by using the checkbox at the top of the table. With selected Elements use the buttons at the top of the table to:
- Delete Elements
- Lock IDs
- Unlock IDs
- Move Elements to other Categories
Renumber Elements¶
To automatically give the Elements in this Category a Board ID number:
- Click the Renumber ID.
- Select which integer to begin numbering and clicking Renumber.
- This will renumber UNLOCKED Elements from the selected integer downwards, following the Custom SORT order while skipping LOCKED numbers.
Note: Alphanumeric Board IDs (such as 1A., 3(m), or 120X) are supported, but are not handled by the automatic renumber.
