Conflict Handling

Movie Magic Scheduling automatically reviews scheduled Strips across the Sub-Boards in each Board and warns you when the same active Element is scheduled on the same shooting day in two or more different Sub-Boards. Click the Element or Strip identified in the Conflict to be navigated to that part of the Schedule.

Conflicts appear:

  • In the Global Conflict flyout for the current Board (top right of the screen).

  • As a conflict icon on the day in the Calendar.

  • As a conflict icon on the Strip (if applicable) in the Board.

  • As a conflict icon on the day cell for the Element in the DOOD.

Clicking any of these icons gives you details about why the system marked it as a conflict. Conflicts are strictly an alert to help you make decisions for your project. The system does not enforce that you change your Schedule.

Conflicts occur when an active Element that appears on shooting Strips is scheduled on the same shooting day across two or more different Sub-Boards.

Note

Events do not trigger Conflicts. A Conflict comes only from the same active Element scheduled across two or more Sub-Boards on the same shooting day.

Note

Red Flag clashes (an Element marked unavailable and scheduled the same day) are tracked separately from Conflicts. See Red Flags and Conflicts for how the two differ.
