Shared File¶
A Shared File is stored in EP Cloud and allows controlled collaboration on a single scheduling project.
How It Works¶
- One user creates and shares the schedule file.
- Other users open the file as shared users, not as independent copies.
- All can work on the file at the same time.
- You can see the changes as they happen.
Key Points to Know¶
- A Shared File is not the same as sending a copy of a file.
- Users must have proper permissions to open or edit the shared file.
- Shared Files are managed within environments set up by Entertainment Partners.
Typical Use Case¶
- On a TV series or feature film, the 1st AD may control editing access, while other team members open the Shared File in read-only mode to review Boards, reports, and revisions.
- The 2nd AD may have editing permission.
Important
To use the MMS Shared File option, you must be connected to the internet, have an EP account, and have MMS10 installed on your computer.
